Privacy Policy

We collect the information you give us when you create an account and use OppStream: your name, email address, and the content you create or upload. If you connect an email or CRM account, we access it to provide the features you asked for.

OppStream also gathers business information about companies and their staff from publicly available sources, on behalf of the customer who asked for it.

To operate and improve the service, to communicate with you about it, and to keep it secure.

We process customer information to provide the service you signed up for. We process business contact information about prospective customers on the basis of legitimate interests. You can object to that at any time.

If you received a message and want to know why, a customer of ours used OppStream to research your company. We may hold your name, job title, and business contact details, gathered from public sources.

That customer decided to contact you and is the controller of your data; OppStream processes it on their instructions, as their processor. Questions about why you were contacted are best put to the sender. Requests to us about the data itself are handled as described below.

To have it removed, reply to the message you received, or write to us at the address below. We will delete it and add you to a do-not-contact list, which the service never writes to again.

The Guide on our public website answers questions from OppStream’s own product configuration. It works entirely in your browser: what you type is used to look up an answer locally and is not sent to a third party or to any AI service.

Once you start a conversation with it, your browser keeps that conversation and a count of how many times you have opened the Guide, so that moving to another page does not make you start again. Both stay on your device, are never sent anywhere, and are deleted after seven days of not being used. “Start over” in the Guide removes them immediately, as does clearing your browser data. If you are only offered the Guide and do not use it, nothing is stored at all.

We do record, without anything that identifies you, which questions the Guide is asked and which plan it suggests — so we can tell which answers are missing and improve them. No visitor identifier, address or contact detail is stored with those records.

We measure how our public website is used — which pages are viewed and in what order, the site and campaign that brought you, the type of device, and whether a signup was started, ran into an error or was completed — so we can see where the site is unclear and improve it. This works without cookies and stores nothing on your device. Visits on the same day are grouped by a one-way code made from your network address and browser with a key that is replaced every day, so we cannot recognise you on another day, and we never store your network (IP) address. Pages inside the product, account pages and personal video pages are not measured, and neither are signed-in users. If your browser sends Do Not Track or Global Privacy Control, your visit is only counted: no code, no lookup.

To understand which organisations are interested in OppStream, we may check whether the network a visit comes from is registered to a company, using the network’s public DNS name and the public internet registries (such as RIPE NCC and ARIN), which receive the network address for that lookup. This tells us at most a company, never a person, and we treat it as possible, not certain. If you sign up with a work email address, we note your company’s domain — not your address — against the visit. We do this on the basis of our legitimate interest in improving our website and understanding who it is useful to. Visit records are deleted after 90 days.

We use no advertising cookies, no analytics cookies, no third-party trackers, and nothing that follows you to another website, which is why this site has no cookie banner to click through.

We use service providers to operate OppStream:

• Cloud infrastructure and storage providers, which host the service and its data
• AI model providers, which perform research and drafting
• Email delivery providers, which send messages on our behalf

Some of these providers operate outside your country, including outside Europe. They process data on our instructions only.

We do not sell your information. We share it only with the providers above and where the law requires it.

Data is stored on secure infrastructure with encryption in transit and at rest. No system is perfectly secure, and we cannot guarantee absolute security.

You can access, correct, export or delete your information, and object to how we use it. Contact us and we will respond within 30 days, free of charge.

If you are in the EU or UK, you may also complain to your national data protection authority.

We keep information for as long as your account is active, and for a period afterwards where we need to for legal or operational reasons. Website visit records are deleted after 90 days. Do-not-contact records are kept indefinitely so that we can honour them.

OppStream is a business tool and is not intended for anyone under 18. We do not knowingly collect information about children.

We may update this policy from time to time. The date at the top shows when it last changed.
